What To Expect
at your
First Appointment

First, I will have you come in for a consultation. I want to get a feel for your current hair color, density and texture. We will further discuss your goals, do a thorough consultation, as well as answer any questions that you have.

This is a 30 minute appointment.

At your install appointment, you will receive a little extra time in my chair so I can answer any additional questions. We will custom color your hair if needed, shampoo and prepare your hair. I will install your wefts, do a precision-blended cut and style. You will receive a luxury extension after-care kit to ensure you have everything you need to protect your investment.

Throughout the visit, we will be taking photos. If your appointment lasts more than 5 hours, your lunch will be included (on me!). I have plenty of hot & cold beverages and snacks available for you, too!

  • What are Hand-Tied Weft Extensions?
Hand-tied hair extensions are wefts of hair that are tied to a string by a human instead of a machine. This prevents bulkiness at the scalp to ensure that your hair lays flat against your head with the ultimate flexibility.
  • Can I wash my extensions?
Yes, wash them with stylist recommended shampoo and conditioner to keep them moisturized and shiny! You only need to wash them 1-2 times per week and do a half wash in between. If they are feeling dry, you can use a hair oil, such as Goldilocks Serum, or Leave in Conditioner on the ends of the hair to add moisture.
  • Can I go in a pool or the ocean with Hand-Tied Weft Extensions?
Yes! I recommend that you get the hair wet with fresh water first and coat it with a conditioner, so it does not soak in salt or chlorinated water - this is healthiest for all hair types! Once you are done, rinse throughly and be sure to shampoo and condition. Do not let Chlorine dry in the hair. And do not use sunscreen containing Avobenzone or Octocrylene.
  • Can I wear my hair in a ponytail?
Yes! With some methods, it's best to wait a week before wearing up, because they will be snug. But after that you can really were your hair any way you want and the extensions will be undetectable.
  • How should I care for extensions at night?
It’s best to wear them in a low LOOSE ponytail, or a high LOOSE ponytail, or two braids to keep them under control and prevent tangling. This will also leave a nice wave so you’re basically ready to go in the morning. Do NOT go to bed with wet hair, ESPECIALLY in a messy bun.
  • How can I style my extensions?
You can blow dry, curl, braid, flat iron - basically anything you do with your own hair! They also tend to hold a style better than the average head of hair! I will also teach you recommendations on your install day.
  • What is the best way to take care of my extensions?
Be sure to comb through them in the morning, before showering, and at night, below weft to ends to prevent tangles. Wash 1-2 times a week. Make sure they’re dry before going to bed, blow dry or air dry. I recommend a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, such as Goldielocks, as well as a leave in conditioner and oil or serum on the extension hair.
  • What is the maintenance routine?
You need to get them move up every 6-8 weeks depending on your hair type. It takes about an hour per row - the typical amount of rows is two. They will likely need a color refresh, rooting, or a gloss/toner. This is the best time to do color on your hair as well, while we have them out! The hair will last about 6 months with proper maintenance!
  • How are extensions applied?
I will sew in a track around your head in a horseshoe shape with beads and thread. Then I take several wefts and layer them for a custom blend to match your hair, and sew them onto the track. Theres no heat or glue touching your hair!
  • Do extensions hurt?
With some methods, they may be snug or tight feeling the first few days, then you will forget you even have them in! It feels similar if you’ve ever had nails applied. They are very comfortable!
  • What are the beads made of?
The beads are an aluminum. They can typically be worn during MRI’s, but always double check with your doctor!
  • How long does my hair need to be?
The top layer should reach your chin, the bottom length should be to your shoulders for a seamless blend.
